Minority Writers Seminar

Starts: November 12, 2015 at 8:00 am
Ends: November 15, 2015 at 5:00 pm

Do you want to be an opinion journalist? The Minority Writers Seminar, a program by the Association of Opinion Journalists, can help you get there. In its 20th year, the program will be at the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Fla. Nov. 12-15. Tuition is free. A small travel stipend is available. Admission is open to traditional journalists looking to make the switch to opinion journalism but also to freelancers, journalism educators and others. And the skills we will teach will hold up on whatever platform you’re writing – from newspapers to online sites. This year, the program is directed by O. Ricardo Pimentel, former NAHJ president and now the associate editorial page editor at the San Antonio Express-News.
