Victim Privacy/FOI Task Force Public Hearing

Starts: October 1, 2013 at 6:00 pm
Ends: October 1, 2013 at 8:00 pm

The Task Force on Victim Privacy and Public’s Right to Know will host a public hearing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 1 in Hartford.

All members of the public are invited to attend, to give testimony about the task force’s mission — to determine the balance between victim privacy and the public’s right to know.

The task force was created after the Connecticut legislature approved a law that limits public access to crime scene documents in the wake of the Newtown elementary school shooting.

The public hearing will be held at 2550 Main St. in Hartford, on the first floor. The building is a three-story commercial building next to a church.

A second public hearing is scheduled for Oct. 9 in Bridgeport. The address will be announced soon.
